Our Reading Room is located in the church building and is a quiet place for study and prayer. In the Reading Room, you will find many reference books and resources (in book form and on-line) to support your study of Christian Science, as well as the Christian Science periodicals and the weekly Bible Lesson.
The Reading Room is also a bookstore where you can purchase the Holy Bible, the Christian Science textbook, Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures, biographies of Mary Baker Eddy, and other authorized literature on Christian Science.
READING ROOM HOURSSunday services are conducted by First and Second Readers elected by the members. There is no ordained clergy in Christian Science. We recognize the Bible and our textbook, Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures, as our Pastor. The Readers read a Lesson-Sermon made up of passages from the Bible and the textbook. The author of our textbook, and many other writings, is the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy. Students of Christian Science world-wide study this lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly during the week. Also, in the Quarterly you will find the order of service and other information about our church.
Wednesday testimony meetings begin with readings from the Bible and Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures prepared by the First Reader. Then the meeting is opened for members of the congregation to share testimonies of healing, as well as experiences and remarks on Christian Science.
